Loyalsock Township School District is excited to welcome Trooper Mike Knight of the state police as our school resource officer for the upcoming school year.
The SRO is a first for our district, which never had a stationed a police officer in a school building.
Trooper Knight will be assigned to the district on a varying schedule and will be available at some afterschool events, primarily at the middle and high school.
The officer also will respond to emergencies outside of the district if needed by the state police.
In addition, the SRO will perform other services such as driver education, school bus safety, development of school safety plans and school security walk-throughs.
